I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP) with more than 13 years of experience supporting individuals through a wide range of mental health challenges. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked in a variety of clinical environments—including intensive in-home services, residential treatment centers, and correctional settings—which has shaped my comprehensive and compassionate approach to care.
My work has included specialized rehabilitation for individuals with sexual offense histories, where I obtained my certification in sex offender treatment. I’ve also served in leadership roles, including as a lead clinician in adult services at a community services board. These experiences gave me the opportunity to develop a broad skill set in treating diverse diagnoses and to support clients at many points along the mental health continuum.
Currently, my focus is outpatient therapy, where I enjoy building meaningful therapeutic relationships and providing care that is both structured and responsive to each client’s needs. I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also incorporate techniques from Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients create practical, lasting change.
My style is warm, collaborative, and skills-focused. I believe in meeting clients where they are while fostering self-awareness, emotional regulation, and confidence in their ability to move forward.
Outside the therapy room, I’m an avid animal lover and enjoy cultivating calm and positivity in the spaces I share—whether with clients, friends, or the broader community.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through life’s most complex emotional challenges. My early career was rooted in acute and residential mental health settings, where I spent seven years developing a strong clinical foundation in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Those formative years continue to shape my integrative approach to therapy today.
My practice is grounded in the belief that our experiences—especially those involving trauma, grief, or major transitions—leave lasting imprints not only on the mind but also on the body. I use a holistic, client-centered lens to tailor treatment to each individual, honoring the interconnectedness of emotional, physical, and relational wellbeing. I specialize in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, and navigating major life transitions.
Originally from England, I’ve called Virginia home for over twenty years. I earned my Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and now serve as a community-embedded professor in VCU’s MSW program—an opportunity that allows me to give back to the next generation of clinical social workers while staying connected to evolving best practices in the field.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, relational, and grounded in clinical depth. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and ego psychology. A consistent thread in my work is helping clients understand how emotions live in the body, and how greater self-awareness can lead to meaningful growth and healing.
Clients often describe me as open, honest, and direct in a supportive and nonjudgmental way. I strive to create a space where people can feel safe, seen, and challenged when needed. Whether we’re working through long-held patterns or addressing something more acute, I’ll meet you with both clinical skill and genuine care as we work together toward your goals.
When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me curled up with my dogs, a cup of tea, and a good book—or engaged in a competitive board game that involves strategy and wit. I’m also an avid traveler, always seeking new perspectives and experiences. Scotland, with its rich history and striking landscapes, is currently my favorite destination.
Above all, I believe in the power of therapy to help us reconnect with our inner strength, rewrite limiting narratives, and cultivate a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP), and EMDRIA-Certified Therapist with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. My background includes working across multiple levels of care, including residential treatment, acute psychiatric services, and outpatient therapy. These varied experiences have shaped a flexible and thoughtful approach to supporting individuals through complex challenges.
Much of my early work centered around providing care to youth in residential settings, including those with histories of sexually abusive behavior. Over time, I moved into program development and leadership roles—creating therapeutic programs tailored to the needs of at-risk youth and guiding teams as a Clinical Director and Program Director. Later, I served as the Director of Child and Family Services at a community services board, where I worked to improve access to care, enhance support for LGBTQ+ clients, and expand school-based services across several rural counties.
These experiences have deepened my belief in the importance of meeting people where they are. Today, my work is focused on outpatient therapy, where I can return to what I value most—being present with clients in the therapy room. I primarily use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), somatic therapy, and polyvagal theory to support trauma healing, and I draw from CBT and other evidence-based models to meet each person’s unique needs. My style is collaborative, steady, and attuned to helping clients move at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful.
I see therapy as a shared process—one that respects your experiences, builds on your strengths, and supports you in creating the kind of life you want to live.
Outside of my work, I enjoy time with my dogs, trying new foods, and finding moments for reflection and growth in everyday life.

I’m a licensed therapist with extensive experience working with children, adults, couples, and families across a broad range of clinical settings. My approach is both compassionate and results-oriented, grounded in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. I specialize in treating behavioral, mood, and personality disorders, with a strong focus on supporting individuals through complex emotional challenges and life transitions.
A significant part of my clinical work focuses on relationships. I have a deep passion for helping couples strengthen their connection, navigate conflict, and rebuild trust. Whether through marital counseling or family-focused work, I bring a systems lens to support healing not just at the individual level, but within the relationships that matter most.
In addition to relational work, I have considerable experience in substance use treatment, having served clients in both residential and outpatient levels of care. My work in recovery-focused settings has equipped me with the ability to support clients with co-occurring disorders, treatment-resistant presentations, and histories of relapse. I’m skilled in helping clients identify practical strategies for maintaining recovery while addressing the underlying issues that drive addiction.
I am currently pursuing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a leading trauma treatment approach that supports clients in processing distressing memories and building emotional resilience. I regularly integrate trauma-informed care principles into my work and have a strong clinical interest in working with survivors of trauma, individuals impacted by family dysfunction, and those experiencing grief and loss.
Clients often describe my style as steady, empathic, and highly engaged. I’m committed to creating a safe, affirming therapeutic space where clients feel understood and challenged in meaningful ways. My goal is always to help people deepen their insight, strengthen their relationships, and make lasting changes that align with their values and goals.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors with my two dogs, and immersing myself in a good book. I also find creativity and joy in cooking, especially experimenting with cultural dishes I’ve discovered during my travels.
At the core of my practice is a belief in human potential, connection, and the healing power of an authentic therapeutic relationship. I consider it an honor to walk alongside my clients as they pursue healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.

I’m a Supervisee in Social Work (she/they) with four years of experience in the mental health field, and I’m passionate about providing therapy that is grounded in compassion, clinical integrity, and evidence-based care. My therapeutic style is structured, supportive, and relational—I aim to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.
My clinical foundation is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I also draw from modalities such as Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I believe therapy should be both insightful and practical—tailored to each person’s unique experience and goals.
Currently, I’m expanding my expertise by training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) under the supervision of a certified DBT clinician. I co-facilitate both DBT and RO-DBT skills groups and will soon begin co-leading trauma-focused groups. I’m especially interested in helping clients develop greater emotional openness, social connectedness, and flexibility in their daily lives.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings. I’ve supported college students navigating major life transitions, LGBTQIA+ individuals of all ages facing systemic and interpersonal challenges, clients recovering from serious medical conditions in skilled nursing facilities, and hospice patients and their loved ones coping with the emotional and cognitive toll of terminal illness. These experiences have shaped my deep respect for resilience and the power of being present.
I work with clients across the lifespan and have a particular interest in serving the LGBTQIA2S+ community, first responders, and individuals navigating trauma recovery, eating disorders, and justice involvement. I bring cultural humility, openness, and a genuine desire to grow alongside my clients—always centering their lived experiences and strengths in our work together.
I also value the importance of self-care and holistic wellness in both life and therapy. I draw from my own mindfulness and yoga practices to support emotional regulation and well-being. Outside the clinical setting, I enjoy cycling, crafting, and spending time with my cat and family—nurturing what DBT calls “a life worth living.”
Above all, I’m committed to offering inclusive, ethical, and effective therapy that is rooted in best practices and authentic human connection.
